Export Accelerator for Preston Businesses

Considering exporting but unsure where to begin? New to export and looking for support? Ready to make the leap from reactive to proactive exporting?
The Chamber of Commerce - Export Accelerator Programme offers free training, mentoring and consultancy to Preston businesses to enable you to hit the ground running on your export journey.
It is delivered by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce's International Trade Team on behalf of Preston City Council, funded through its GOV.UK - UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). It is part of the funded International Trade support from the Chamber of Commerce all you need to know about international trade.
This support is available to all Preston businesses within Preston City Council area - no need to be a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
Planning for Export Growth
Date/time: Friday 25 October 2024 (9:30am - 12:30pm)
Consider the factors affecting export growth and create an export plan for strategic exporting. Learn how to identify and research new markets. Explore the advantages and disadvantages of different routes to market, alongside partner profiling and distribution agreements. Gain the requisite knowledge to determine effective export pricing for different markets, taking into consideration post-Brexit trade agreements, varying carriage and customs costs, and business culture.
Introduction to International Trade
Date/time: Thursday 7 November 2024 (10am - 4pm)
Gain confidence in import/export processes and procedures. This one-day course will cover export and shipping documentation, logistics, incoterms, commodity codes and preferential origin. Learn vital information to ensure HMRC compliance and avoid costly mistakes. You will acquire the requisite knowledge to make informed sales decisions and to implement smooth export procedures and ensure customer satisfaction.
Half day consultancy
In addition to the training workshops, you will also benefit from one-to-one advice from the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce's International Trade Team. Tailored to match your needs, this can include services such as mentoring, consultancy on specific issues, and market research. This can be sector or country specific, depending on your business needs.

About the UKSPF
The GOV.UK - UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is a central pillar of the UK Government's Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK, investing in communities and place, supporting local business, people and skills.
The Government has allocated £5.2 million for investment in Preston.
